Master Ray Szuch , Master Alan Goldberg, Michael Berryman from “The Hills Have Eyes” and Mr. Manny Maya.

On June 3, 4 and 5th of 2004 movie producers and directors converged on Cleveland , Ohio for the first “Indie Gathering” (www.theindiegathering.com). This event hosted a film festival, convention, lectures and competition for actors and stunt people. Martial Artist from as far as Oregon, Texas and Great Britain came and competed in fight scene competition. Alan Goldberg and an associate Manny Maya from New York City represented the Martial Arts world and networked with the film world. Master Goldberg received all the respect that comes with his position in the Martial Arts and networked on numerous film projects. Master Goldberg and Mr. Maya were appointed to the board of directors for “World Stunt Assoc.”  This is the first association of this type, to unify the martial arts world with the film world. State directors have been appointed for TX, OR, NY, MD, OH, MA and Great Britain. All film projects associated with us will be directed to the state directors for stunts and fight scene choreographing.

“Star Competition” is now being placed into martial art tournaments around the country. Bill Viola’s “Kumite Classic” in PA was the first to incorporate it into national competition. The judges were movie producers and directors watching martial artist in street cloths perform a 90 sec. fight scene with monolog included. Winners from tournaments will be seeded into the 2008 Indie Gathering.
